I am a Director at People Management Solutions which means I do a bit of everything from working with small organisations to put basic best practice HR in place to working with larger multi-nationals on specific HR projects. My job is to think big as long as I look after the detail.
I am a Director at People Management Solutions which means I get to work on a variety of HR issues with lots of interesting people across a broad spectrum of industries. I’m a firm believer in two things: that hard work brings success and that preparation makes its own luck.
In a 30 year career I have worked in the private and public sectors for Financial Services, Consultancy and Further Education organisations. As a Consultant I have the pleasure of working with committed managers in SME and large companies, focusing on effective leadership, business development and improving work practices to keep organisations competitive.
I am an Associate Consultant with People Management Solutions and a self employed HR and Training Consultant. I support clients designing and delivering their learning and development agenda as well as coaching and outplacement support both on a one to one or group level. I am also experienced in delivering a wide range of HR projects across many sectors and industries.
I have recently joined the People Management Solutions team as Associate Consultant. Prior to this, I was employed in a range of HR roles up to Head of HR level across the private, public and 3rd sector. Within these roles, I covered the full remit of HR activity from recruitment & selection, learning & development, employee relations and policy development as well as numerous HR projects and employee wellbeing initiatives. I also have experience of supporting the work of a well-established NI charity at Trustee level.
I have a sound working knowledge of current employment law with recent experience supporting employers prepare for both GDPR and forthcoming mandatory Gender Pay Gap Reporting. I hold full Chartered Membership of the CIPD, a Masters’ Degree in Human Resource Management and work hard to keep up to date with developments in the field of HR and employment law.
During my time in HR which spans 20 years, I have been involved in supporting organisations, line managers and staff achieve their goals through best practice HR. I pride myself on a very approachable, solution focused style of working allowing me to develop sound relationships across all levels of the organisations I work with. I have experience of supporting organisations work towards ISO and Investors in People accreditation as well as experience as an Assessor for the EFQM excellence awards.
