The Coaching Manager

The purpose of this workshop is to increase Managers awareness of the benefits coaching brings to individuals and teams, whilst also building upon their confidence and ability to adopt a coaching approach.

Although it is now widely accepted that the command and control style of management is outdated, and is superseded by a coaching management style, the Harvard Business review confirm that unfortunately, “most managers don’t understand what coaching really is” and according to Gallup, only about 2 in 10 managers have an instinctive understanding of how to coach. This course supports managers to adopt a coaching approach, developing skills and confidence which enable them to engage with others in a solutions focused way, whilst helping to realise the potential of others.

  • Have an understanding of when situations or individuals, may or may not benefit from the application of a coaching approach
  • Be familiar with a number of techniques to integrate coaching within workplace scenarios
  • Understand the principles and main models of a coaching conversation
  • Have the skills and confidence to adopt a coaching approach with individuals and in teams
  • Understand how they might develop / influence a coaching culture within their wider team.
