I am a Director at People Management Solutions which means I do a bit of everything from working with small to medium sized organisations putting best practice HR in place as well as working with larger multi-nationals on specific HR projects and complex workplace disputes.
My job is to think big as long as I look after the detail.
I have worked in HR with some of the leading and most innovative companies throughout Great Britain and Ireland for over 30 years. My key areas of expertise include outsourced HR solutions, dispute resolution and HR related training. I am an accredited mediator and trained investigator and have investigated many complaints of workplace bullying and harassment as well as discipline and grievance issues. This practical experience has proved interesting and invaluable when delivering training in the complex area of employment. I particularly enjoy the variety of working and building strong relationships with some of our SMEs as well as the challenge of resolving the complex workplace disputes that I often face. I am a regular speaker on the employment law circuit in Northern Ireland. My career highlight was being awarded the CIPD NI HR Consultant of the Year.
My reputation for providing a very practical approach to people management. I’m as comfortable working with small organisations as I am with multi-nationals. A typical day may include providing advice on a variety of HR issues, mediating an employment dispute or conducting a workplace investigation. A challenging but non-judgmental approach and friendly rapport with clients are the key attributes which sum me up best. This has helped me to drive People Management Solutions to the forefront of HR outsourcing and training within Northern Ireland today.
Hiking close to home or walking the beaches of Inishowen at the weekends. I also love to travel. My husband renovated a campervan during lockdown so now that the children are no longer living at home the plan is to work less and explore Europe as much as we can.
